Holyoke Rows runs a team rowing program for high school and middle school students, during the school year. We offer rowing for both new and experienced rowers in 7th – 12th grade (12 – 18 years old) in the greater Western Massachusetts area. Programs include developmental middle school rowing, a high school team, and summer camps. No prior experience is required and anyone can learn!
Middle School Rowing is an introduction to the sport, for 7th and 8th graders and is offered each fall and spring season. This is a non-competitive program, with practices held 3 days each week. Rowers can repeat the program or join the High School Team.
High School Rowing is for 9th-12th graders, and new and experienced rowers are welcome (Middle School rowing is not a prerequisite). High school rowers practice 5 days a week. We meet after school, at the boathouse, 3:15 to 5:15 every day. Fall and spring season are “on the water” with a focus on boat skills and speed, and the team competes at regattas around the region.
